Jack + Link Wooden Toys

Finding quality toys is difficult these days! It seems like companies are going for cheap and it’s really frustrating as a mom.  When I find good quality toys, I love to share about them!  I recently found a company that I love their products, how they are made, and their mission…Jack + Link!

Jack + Link make wood toys that are handcrafted from 100% organic wood!  Not only are the toys beautiful but they are well made and non-toxic. Camden and Ella play with their Jack and Link toys all the time and they still look brand new!

Another thing that I love about Jack and Link is that they are eco conscious.  They only purchase from sustainably sourced mills.  They use eco-friendly packaging. They donate a portion of every purchase to the rainforest trust to purchase and preserve rain forest acreage.  They bag their sawdust to give to farms for fertilization and they use wood from trees that had to be cut down because they died naturally or had to be cleared to prevent forest fires.  Isn’t that amazing?

One of the Jack and Link items we have are their name puzzles.  Camden and Ella love these and I love them because it helps with eye hand coordination and helps them learn their letters!

IMG_7903IMG_7917IMG_7916

How cute are these?

IMG_7910

We also have their Wooden Heart Wand and Dinosaur Wooden Wand which are Camden and Ella’s favorite thing in the world!  They watch Word Party on Netflix and the main character uses a wand so they are constantly carrying their wands around playing pretend.  It’s the cutest thing ever!

IMG_7930IMG_7904

Could they be any more adorable?

IMG_7933IMG_7929

I can’t say enough good things about this company and what they stand for…plus, their owners are the sweetest!  Make sure you check out their website for their large selection of toys.

I mean, look at how cute this is!!!

Their products would be great for your baby or kid, or even the perfect gift for someone else!!! Thanks Jack + Link for making these for Camden and Ella!

A Day in the Life- July 2019

One of my favorite things to read from bloggers are “Day in the Life” posts.  They give you a snapshot into people’s everyday lives! I wish I had done this while my kiddos were newborns (#absolutecraziness) and then every few months, just so I could look back on it.  I’ve done a lot of Life Lately posts but never a “Day in the Life”, here goes nothing…

The day I’m writing about was a random “work day” last week.  We travel a lot and we do try to keep busy but I should warn you, our normal days are just like everyone else’s…a little boring, we follow a routine, and everything revolves around our two toddlers!

Around 7 am, I woke up (Judd was already at work), I showered, made the bed, let London out, unloaded the dishwasher, started the robot vacuum, and then headed to my office to work for about 30-45 minutes.

IMG_8038

Around 8:15, I heard the kiddos start to wake up!  Good Morning, my favorite twinsies!!

IMG_8029

I changed them and then it was time for breakfast.  They eat the same thing almost every morning: milk, vitamin gummy, whole wheat toast, bananas, and turkey sausage.

IMG_8030

Happy kiddos!!IMG_8034

Last year at this time, we took London to a dog training class and it was one of the best decisions we ever made.  She sat on her “spot” until we released her after breakfast.

IMG_8036

The rest of the morning until lunch was spent playing!  These two LOVE to play!

IMG_8040

We also talked to Lovey (who had just gotten out of the shower, lol)!

IMG_8041

Around 12:00, it was time for lunch!

IMG_8048

After lunch, we read a few books and then it was nap time for Camden and Ella.

While, they were sleeping I worked on some photo shoots.  Part of my job as a blogger is creating content and providing brand awareness for companies.  I try to take my “product” pictures one day a week.  Here I’m doing a photoshoot for a shoe insert.  When Judd isn’t home, I use my tripod to take pictures. 🙂

IMG_8051

Around 3:00, Judd got home and the kiddos woke up!

IMG_8070

Judd, Camden, and Ella ate a snack and played while I finished up my individual shoots and then it was time for dinner!

IMG_8478img_8359-2.jpeg

After dinner, we went swimming for a couple of hours! IMG_8371IMG_8372IMG_8373

Then it was home to take baths and unwind for the day.

Around 9:00 we put the kiddos to bed.  Every night after we put the kids to bed (and when Judd is home and not working), Judd and I grab a sweet treat like ice cream or cookies and watch TV together before bed.  It’s our time to relax before the day is over.

IMG_8071

Around 10:00, we both headed to bed.  One more “work day” and then it was the weekend for us! We usually spend our weekends at the beach or traveling. 🙂

My First Clothing Subscription Experience

As a mom of twin toddlers, it’s nearly impossible for me to find time to go shopping! I love clothes so this has been a struggle since my kiddos were born.  DailyLook, an online clothing subscription service reached out to me last month and at first I was skeptical but I decided to try it and I am SO glad that I did.  I am obsessed with every item they sent.  I thought I’d share about my experience.

The Process

This was so easy and so fun! The process is only three steps:

  1. You take a style quiz online so the stylists know your style, your lifestyle preferences, and your sizes.
  2. Soon after you will get a package in the mail with up to 12 pieces that a stylist picked out for you. There is a $40 styling fee but as long as you keep an item, they will subtract the styling fee.  You can get this monthly or weekly, you can also stop this at any time.
  3. Now comes my final part, you get to try on everything!Whatever you don’t like, you just place into a pre-labeled bag and ship it back.  Returns are free and so is shipping!  It’s as easy as that!!!

My Items

I wanted to show you what came in my box!  I describe my style as girly casual and my stylist nailed this perfectly!

My first outfit is the Just Black Ariel Mid Rise Cropped and Distressed Fray Hem Skinny Jeans, they are SO comfy!) and the Venice Open Front Cascade Cardigan. I LOVE this entire outfit, it’s so comfortable and adorable!IMG_7768

This next shirt was my favorite item, it’s SO me! IT’s the BCBGENERATION Cold Shoulder Top. I love the cut and style of this!IMG_7794

How pretty is the color on this next top? It’s the Ruffle One-Shoulder Cami.  When I pulled this out of the box, I wasn’t sure about it but I ended up loving it on!IMG_7778IMG_7782

My final piece was this classic black top! It’s called the Bella Ruffle Hem Off Shoulder Tie Sleeve Top. My stylist described it has hitting the sweet spot, it sure did! It’s simple but elegant and fun!IMG_7784

My Final Review

I am so impressed by this company and I will be using them again!  Not only did I like every item but everything fit me perfectly and I loved the style! Yay for not having to go shopping with two screaming toddlers anymore. JMake sure you check out DailyLook, you won’t be disappointed! Use STEELE20 at checkout to get $20 off your first box!

Sunflower Field Pictures

I’ve always had a love for sunflowers and when I found out there were fields close to our home, I knew we had to get pictures taken!  Special thanks to our amazing photographer Tiffany Hicks Photography!

Nest Learning Thermostat

Living in South Carolina, the only time where our temperature is consistent is June-September, which it is HOT, HOT, HOT!  The rest of the year it seems like we go from heat to air conditioning every day and constantly having to change our two thermostats is a hassle!  We recently got the Nest Learning Thermostat and it has been life changing.  The system learns your schedule, it programs itself, and figures when to heat and cool your home for you! IMG_7848

There are so many other perks to this as well!!  I thought I’d share some of these with you:

  1. It saves energy! The company did two independent studies and on average the Nest Thermostat saved 10% to 12% on heating and 15% on cooling. The average family saves $131-145 a year, basically it pays for itself within two years and saves you money in the long run!
  2. We can control it from our phones! While we’re traveling we can set the temperature higher or lower, set the temperature our house sitter is comfortable at, or set a schedule. On our way home, we can put it back to our family’s comfortable temperature.IMG_7857.png
  3. It’s easy to install! Some technology these days is very complex to install but Judd said this was a piece of cake!
  4. Judd’s favorite feature is when you walk by it, it shows you the temperature outside and a picture of the weather.  This is the setting we have it at but there are also other displays.  When you press the thermostat, you will see a summary of what function is operating and the forecast for the day.  You can also reach settings, energy history, or your schedule from here.  It’s really easy to use!IMG_7855IMG_7849
  5. It’s small and it’s even attractive to look at! You don’t hear that about thermostats very often.IMG_7846

Trust me when I say, this product, the Nest Learning Thermostat will make your life so much easier and your house will always be at a comfortable temperature!

Inofia Foldable Bed

I’m very excited to share with you our new purchase that is life changing for parents of young kids!  Who else has slept on the floor next your kids crib(s) because they weren’t feeling well or seemed off?  My husband and I would do it without hesitation and have but we always wake up feeling horribly sore! After a recent night/morning of this, I started searching the internet because I wanted something that wasn’t permanent in their room but somewhere we could sleep comfortably…and I found the answer to my prayers, the Inofia Foldable Folding Bed.

IMG_7338

Doesn’t it fit in their nursery perfectly?

IMG_7334

We also will be using this a lot when we have multiple guests. We have a guest room but sometimes we need more than that!  This bed is perfect, we can put it in one of our extra rooms and voila, our guest has their own room!

Doesn’t it look cozy?

IMG_7341

I need to mention how comfortable this bed is! My husband took a nap on this as soon as we got it and said he slept like a baby!! It’s a 5” thick memory foam mattress. The mattress cover is also removable and washable!!

IMG_7337

The kiddos were ready to take a nap too!

IMG_7345

Another big reason we went with this, is how easy it is to store!  The metal frame is on wheels so it’s easy to move around and it folds up so you can put it in a storage room or closet easily!!

IMG_7329

If you’re tired of sleeping on your kids room floor or need a portable bed for guests, the , the Inofia Foldable Folding Bed is for you!  If you use that link, you can get 10% off.
