Our Most Magical Trip Yet-Disney 2021

Hi friends!! It’s been awhile! We’ve just been so busy in this season of our life…the kids are in a million activities, I feel like we’re never home! Today, I’m excited to share our most recent trip to Disney World/Orlando with you.  It was honestly one of those trips that brings a huge smile to my face every time I think about it…it could not have gone better!

We spent 5 days in Orlando.  We stayed at Holiday Inn Vacation Club’s Orange Lake Resort.  This is our second time staying there and it definitely won’t be our last…we LOVE it there.  We stay in a 2 or 3-bedroom villa each time which gives us plenty of room to spread out…plus, there is a full kitchen, multiple bathrooms, washer and dryer, etc! The location also can’t be beat for Orlando! The best part of this resort though is the amenities…there is everything you can imagine to do with a family.  The pools are the best I’ve ever seen and trust me, we’ve seen a lot of pools!

The first evening we got there, we checked in and went straight to the pool.

We spent the next day relaxing by the pool at River Island (one of the many pools at Orange Lake).

That evening, we headed to Disney Springs.  This was our first time visiting Disney Springs and we loved it.  We had dinner at Chicken Guy! (highly recommend this place), shopped, and picked up our tickets for the next day.

I loved that there were multiple stages throughout Disney Springs playing live music. We found one playing country music (my fav!) and the kiddos danced their hearts out for an hour or so.  It was a blast! I captured some of it on video…how cute are they? 🙂

The next morning, we woke up bright and early and headed to Magic Kingdom! This was one of the best days, if not the best day we’ve ever had as a family. It was memorable, it was fun, it was perfect!

We made it in time for rope drop and took pictures around the castle!

We had front row seats to the opening show which really set the entire mood of the day for Camden and Ella.  They were thrilled to wave to Mickey, Minnie, and the entire gang!

We spent the rest of the day riding every single ride in the park (thanks, Genie +), eating our way through the park (especially the Dole Whip & churros) and smiling the entire day!

Random tip: If your child is five or under (maybe even 6), bring a stroller! We could not have done everything we did with Camden and Ella walking.  Also, label your strollers.  On our second trip to Disney World with the kids, we did have our stroller stolen.

One of my most favorite parts of the day, Judd saw the Princess Parade out of the corner of his eye and we were pretty far away, we sprinted as fast as we could and made it.  There was actually no one standing by us so the princesses waved to Camden and Ella.  In fact, Cinderella blew Ella a kiss and she smiled from ear to ear and started to cry happy tears. Which then made me start to cry.  Can you see her joy in this picture?

Camden wants to be an astronaut when he grows up so when he saw this rocket ride he got really excited.  However, he kept getting nervous so we would turn around and go ride something else.  By the end of the day, he was ready to ride and he LOVED IT!

Have you ever had one of those moments that you just won’t ever forget? It was this firework show for me. We had a fabulous day so we were already floating on Cloud 9 but then this firework show started and our mouths just dropped open. Disney World outdid itself, the 50th anniversary show is UNBELIEVABLE!

The next two days were spent checking out all of the pools at Orange Lake Resort and eating at restaurants that we don’t have in Charleston.

On our last night, we were a little sad that the trip was almost over so we went back to Disney Springs once more! We ate dinner, did a little shopping, and the kiddos danced some more. 🙂

You can read about our first trip with the kids to Disney here and the second trip to Orange Lake and Disney (much better than the first trip) here. I have a Disney World Packing List in collaboration with Holiday Inn Club Vacations coming next week, I will link it once it’s live. It’s a good one, so stay tuned!

As a child, I felt the magic of Disney World and this trip with my kids and seeing it through their eyes, brought it right back.  I completely understand why families go back again and again…Orange Lake Resort and Disney World you are MAGIC and we can’t wait to visit you again!!
