It’s been a while since I did a Life Lately post and well…I think it’s a great time! Usually I share what we’ve been up to but since the world has been
hit with Covid-19, our daily life is the same almost every single day (sigh, Ground Hog Day for sure) so I thought I’d share a day for us.
I should note that this time has been hard because we are missing our family. We also really miss the beach! BUT, it’s been great because we’ve had Judd home a lot more than usual.
Our Daily Life Lately
I picked just a random day that Judd was off work. This is a very typical day for us. Judd and I wake up around 7:30, we both get ready for the day (although somedays we shower and put pajamas back on, haha). I do a little work and he does things around the house. The kids are up around 9.
Breakfast
We make them breakfast which is always the same thing (cereal, bananas, milk, and turkey sausage-boring)!
Cartoons
Then they watch cartoons for about a half hour while we clean up breakfast and do stuff around the house. This sweet little boy loves taking selfies with me right now!
Here they are helping me dry my hair. 😉
Making “School” a Fun Part of Life Lately
Another big part of life lately is “Mommy School”. This is just an at home preschool curriculum I put together. I don’t know why we even call it that, I think Ella said it once and it’s just stuck. We do this for about 1-2 hours, it really just depends on how the kids are doing that day. If they are enjoying it and focusing, we will do it for 2 hours, if not, we just do it until they lose focus. I want school to be fun right now and not forced. I’m actually pretty nervous to see if Camden and Ella’s preschool is going to start in the fall thanks to Covid-19. 🙁
Outside Time
Then we usually play for a little bit and it’s time for lunch!
After lunch, we usually go do something outside or play inside if the weather is bad. Lately we’ve been going to local parks (staying away from everyone) for picnics and bike rides.
Nap Time and Various Grown-Up Stuff
Then it’s Judd and my favorite time of life lately, NAP TIME! Haha, just kidding but really. 😉 They nap for about 2 hours and we either work on projects or binge watch TV. We’ve been binge watching a lot during all of this- Tiger King, Handmaids Tale, Hannibal, and Outer Banks.
Somedays I get bored and do weird things like try fake eyelashes. 😉
Family Time
The kids always wake up starving so we feed them a snack and then it’s family time! We love to play games, go on bike rides, build Picasso Tile castles, and play outside (the temperature right now in Charleston is perfection)!
One day we did this fun obstacle course.
Dinner Time
Then it’s time for dinner followed by bath time.
Closing Out Life Lately with Bedtime
At the end of the night we try to get them to calm down by reading books, putting a simple show on TV, or doing Cosmic Yoga.
Then we go to bed and start all over the next day, haha!!
Like I said, this has been great because we’ve had Judd home more but we’ve had to cancel 7 trips and are definitely going a little stir crazy!

Life has changed so much for everyone but its been nice to see families spending more time together because of this. We had a trip to Aruba that we had to cancel due to Covid and I was disappointed but things happen. Having my hubby home for the past almost 2 months has been amazing, especially because I’m pregnant with our 2nd child.
Brianna
Congratulations on your pregnancy!! That is so exciting! I completely agree, this brought some really sad things but I also love how much extra time families have had together!
Brianne
We’re getting some cabin fever here, too, but overall, I’ve found all of this extra family time to be the silver lining of everything that’s going on out there. I’ve really enjoyed being able to spend so much time together as a family.
Brianna
I’ve really enjoyed it too!! Glad you found the silver lining as well! 🙂

I think it’s good that your children are not missing their daily lessons, thanks to your creative “Mommy School”. Things will change for better soon.
Brianna
Thank you!! I hope so too!
Jessie
First of all, your kids are insanely adorable. Second, it looks like you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world! We just moved from the beach, and we didn’t get to say bye because of Covid-19, I miss it so much!
Brianna
Aww thank you! Charleston is so beautiful! Where did you move from?

I think so many of us can definitely relate to what you mean when you say every day is groundhog day at the moment! It can be hard sometimes to feel inspired but it is a good time to spend quality family time and engage in some creative pursuits. Hopefully, this won’t last too long and we can all get out and about to stop us going stir crazy!
Heather
You seriously have it all together.I wish I could get on a schedule or plan fun things in between everything going on!

Looks like you guys are having a great time in quarantine! You’re such great parents by keeping your babies active and eating healthy too. Great examples

Yep, your day looks a lot like my days did when my kids were little. My youngest doesn’t up until 9:30! All of my other kids were up by 7 or 7:30, but I was still grateful because at least it wasn’t 5!

so sweet and looks like there was a lot of fun. Thank you very much for your sharing and positive energy. I think one big PLUS for staying home this day is spending so much more time with the family that most don’t usually so In the past. – Knycx Journeying

Congrats and lovely photos. As a travel photographer, my mission is to capture “moments” and unique portraits showing (authentic) emotion. You’ve done that all naturally from your own home. Thank you for letting us in to see life through your eyes.
Brianna
Aww thank you! I usually blog about traveling so I know what a cool job you have!!

the joyous living
looks like you are coming up with good ways for staying active during the stay at home orders. bravo. it’s a blessing you have a nice yard so they kids have some green space to run around if you can’t get out to the park etc. I have been at home since March bc of doctors’ orders so my favorite outing of yours has to be to the park to see the ducks. i would love that!! say hi to them for me 🙂
Brianna
Aww I hope you get to get some fresh air here soon!

A ground hog day with twins… wow, sound lovely and scary at the same time. It’s so nice to see that your twins have such an active lifestyle, I like the mixture of activities – pizza making for fun and exercise to stay healthy, you are a true super-mum!
Brianna
It is lovely and scary for sure, haha!! Thank you so much!

We have been doing all kinds of activities we didn’t have to do before. On thing that covid19 made us realize is that spending lots of time at home with the little family is that first, it’s a lot more work then I thought but also it’s really great too.
Natalie
You had such a wonderful time. I enjoyed reading about your day. I love how you handle homeschooling and TWO kids with such a ease. Teach me hahaha Btw your house is amazing as well as the neighborhood where you live.
Lyanna Soria
I use this time to improve myself and spend quality time with the family. It’s great that you guys are doing well and are productive as well.
AMY
Your kids are too cute and adorable. though it was never an easy experience we are going through, on a positive note it is an opportunity for us to stay at home with our family.
Likyv
Seems like your family has been bonding more than ever. I hope this new normal is getting us back to our old normal soon and the pandemic is almost over.
