Correcting My Posture One Pump at a Time
About 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Forward Head Translation by my amazing chiropractor. I’ve had poor posture since I was a teenager and I thought it was just from bad habits, being a competitive swimmer (many people have rounded shoulders), and possibly mild scoliosis. Turns out it wasn’t any of those things (maybe some is a bad habit) but it was Forward Head Translation. There are 5 Phases of Forward Head Translation, it goes from Normal to Phase 4 being the most severe. I am in Phase 1 but am working to get to Normal! It’s crazy to think about how many people already have this or will in the future…think about how often you are looking down (cell phone, computer, making dinner, taking care of kids, etc), eventually this will affect your neck! Make sure you’re taking the steps now to prevent injuries in the future!
My chiropractor showed me a few stretches to do to help with it, recommended a few things (pillow between my legs at night, raise my computer, etc) and then recommended the Posture Pump. I do this every day as soon as I wake up so that I don’t forget about it! I really can tell a difference already!
