2016 Erin Condren Life Planner Review

November and December is the best time of the year for planner addicts! During these months companies start to release their new planners for the upcoming year! I usually spend hours looking in stores at all the planner options. For years I have looked at Erin Condren Life Planners but every year I ended up selecting a different planner. My reason…I didn’t like the weekly layouts. However, this year I noticed they changed the layout and I decided it was time to give it a try!

For the past week, I have checked my order status daily. I knew my planner was arriving today so I kept checking the front porch every 30 minutes; my husband thought the entire thing was hilarious and probably a tad obnoxious too. 😉

Here’s a quick rundown of what you’ll find inside the 2016 Erin Condren Life Planner:
• Personalized Covers
• Monthly and Weekly Spreads
• Monthly Tabs
• 2015, 2016, and 2017 Yearly Spread
• Notes Section
• 4 Sheets of Stickers
• Double Sided Pocket Folder
• Perpetual Calendar
• Zipper pouch
• Snap-In Party Pops Bookmark

Now, the details…. 🙂

Interchangeable Covers
One of the best things about this planner is you can customize the cover and it is interchangeable! It was really hard for me to select my favorite design and colors. However, I didn’t have to worry too much because the covers are interchangeable! If you get tired of your cover… you can order a new one, simple as that! You could even change your covers for every season! How fun is that? I ended up selecting the Personalized Classic- Life She Loved in Peony and White.

I also paid a little extra to get a picture put on the back, pictures make me happy!

The only things I don’t like about the outside is I can tell the cover will get scratched up and it shows fingerprints. I’m considering buying the Designer Clutch to carry the planer in to avoid it getting damaged.

Inside the Planner
The first thing I noticed was the colors and details of every page in the planner!

The first item in the planner is a 2015 and 2016 Yearly Spread.

Next, there is a goal setting page. You can write your goals for each month! I’m excited to come up with my 2016 goals!

Next up, the most important part of the planner…the calendar sections! This planner has yearly (mentioned up above), monthly, and weekly sections. Each month has its own color and tab and the cover to each month has an adorable motivational quote! I love this!

I mentioned earlier that I didn’t order this planner in the past because of the weekly layouts. This year they changed this! You can choose from 3 layouts: Horizontal Layout, Vertical Layout, or Hourly Layout. Below I explain all three layouts.  However, you can find pictures of the three different layouts here.

The Horizontal Layout is one of the new layouts and this is the one I chose! This is what I personally like my planner pages to look like.  This also includes a “thankful thought” square and I plan on writing our daily dinner menu in this box!

They used to only offer Vertical Layout. This consists of three blank squares per column. You can use this layout however you want: Morning/day/night, work/social/fitness, etc.!

The final option is the Hourly Layout. This would be perfect for anyone who has a lot of appointments or meetings!

Extras
After the 2016 calendar pages you will find note pages. Some of these are lined, some graph paper, and a few are completely blank.

There is also a 2017 planner in case you need to plan for the next year!

Next, is one of my favorite extras! There are 4 pages of colorful stickers bound into the planner:
• 1 sheet of birthday stickers
• 1 pre-printed sheet (game, day off, appointments, sale, mani/pedi vacation, etc.)
• 2 sheets of blank labels for you to customize

My only complaint with the stickers is I don’t go to many concerts, games, or get many mani/pedis so I probably won’t be using most of these pre-printed stickers! However, many people will probably find these useful!

I’ve always used a clip in my past planner to keep my loose pages that I need together. This planner has a sturdy “Keep it Together” folder, so I will no longer need a clip!

Each planner comes with a Perpetual Calendar. This little book keeps track of dates that you need to celebrate year after year!

The next item in the planner is the zip pouch. You can keep little stickers, business cards, greeting cards, or whatever your heart desires in this pouch and not have to worry about it falling out. I adore this feature! There were a few goodies includes in the pouch:
• 3 compliment cards (these make me smile)
• 3 referral code cards
• Sample sheet of “do it all dots”
• 1 coil clip (to add extra things to the coil)
14

Last, but certainly not least, is the bookmark. You can use this to mark your place in the planner. This makes finding the current week a breeze!
